Mr.Sarathy and every kids from Udhavum Nanbargal Trust put their efforts and ensure that every program organized there become sweet memory for life time.   This one is not exceptional again they done it.

Fourth Year in a row at Alathur:

This is fourth consecutive year we are doing “IGNITE ME” program in collaboration with Udhavum Nanbargal Trust.   While we (GLD Movement) are working for process, fund raising, arranging solar lamps for the students and ensuring deliver them on time, Mr.Sarathy and team from Udhavum Nanbargal Trust identify the needy students in and around Alathur Village.  This time we have 31 (20 – 10th , 11 -12th students) students recommended from this area.  After verification we set the date 14-Feb-16 to share the lamps to students.

Salutation to Parent and Students:

Even we realized this is too late to share the lamps to students who appearing for their board exams, our team suggested to go ahead with proposal ( Lamps could be donated by current user to next year 12th and 10th students) this proposal also agreed by the students. Also we have the track records that rural students shared their used lamps to their Juniors.  My hearty salutation to these students and their parents.   During this program more than 50% of the students accompanied by their mother or father, it’s really encouraging and motivating us.

My Hearty Thanks and Love

My hearty thanks and love to all the students, Mr.Sarathy and team, our friends, volunteers, donors  they all make “IGNITE ME” successful and supportive to many rural Government Schools students in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.   My special thanks to Mr.Suthakaran  and Mr.Tamilselvan  who find their valuable time and share their love for the rural education development support.

Solar Lamps Distributed to Three rural schools

Greetings from GLD MOVEMENT

I personally excited about this event,  only because of three schools meeting at single location and the function organized at Sogandi government high school.

Students from Vaayalur Government High School and Ganothaya high school (for special students) reached Sogandi government school on time.  Sumathi and her team made this magic happened with many people support.  Can you image this?
During end of the program we all (students and us)  shared our thanks and salutation which they accepted generously.

All three schools committed to break their schools previous records and set new.  We from GLD MOVEMENT agreed to share our love to support them in their education journey.

The Message
I’m writing this during my return journey from the event.  I got a surprise message from Vayalur Govt School 🇭🇲  is that he’ll be taking VRS to support rural education (just few hours after hearing my vision “to support rural education”)  and during my speech at school Sogandi government high school committed to me to support my vision.  It seems to me my journey started.  I’m just going to see them from this moment.   It also giving me lot of energy to do it.

I’ll also share more about it very soon..   as I need to get ready for tomorrow Pakkam village students meet…

SOLAR LAMPS DISTRIBUTED AT KUGUR GOVT., SCHOOL, KARNATAKA

Dear All,

Greeting from GLD Movement.

Every moments are great for us when we are at field for social causes, learning is unlimited, we get chance to meet great people who inspire us to do more and more, Kugur government school located near Banagaluru, Karnataka is also example for the same.

People wonder and asked me many time how do you find the rural schools and also in very interior to support the students through Ignite Me program?   It’s very simple, we have good and great people who want to help others living every part of the world.    This School also referred by the Gunjur, Government School teachers to support the students of Kugur.

The great thing about the school are it’s natural environment, Head mistress and her great commitment to her students, teachers who helped us to support the students.  Of course the students of the schools and the people who gave their lands to build the schools long year back .   I thank everyone of them to successfully support 54, tenth students who is appearing for their board exams.

This school committed with our vision, in order to make Ignite Me program reach more students, the lamps will be used in that schools as a cyclic basis. [ Students will donate the lamps to their juniors once they complete their studies and any new requirements they will keep in touch with GLD Movement.]

I like to thank our members Jeya Gowri, Saravana Babu, Rama, Senthil Kumar, Koppamma and our friends come donors, who made this possible for us.   I’m really happy to be part of this event.   And we are committed that we’ll be supporting more students in forthcoming years in Karnataka.   Special thanks to Jeya Gowri who done all the ground work for this project.   I wish her all the very best for all her forthcoming projects.

Very worrying point from the school is the drastic reduction in number of students studying in 10th standards,  it was 100+ during 2014-15,  54 now   and expected 35+ students next year.   It’s giving me the message that not only Government, also parents, students, teachers and society responsible for this change.

Personally i also committed to the students that in my next visit i’ll speak in Kannada.

With Lot of love from students we leave the schools after sweet distribution.  But my heart still roaming there to find the solution for the question.
